When school is done and summer is starting, many of us are looking forward to fun times and going away as a family. For a lot of the kids surrounding SCA’s Ministry Centres, summer means boredom and loneliness as they are often left with nothing to do, no one to be with and no where to go. You can change that!

Your gift of $250 (enough for one week of camp) will transforms a child’s summer and has the potential to change their life for eternity.

A trip to an SCA camp is an opportunity of a lifetime. The child you sponsor will meet new friends, enjoy beautiful nature, have a place to talk about their struggles and learn about and feel the love of God in a safe and fun environment.

“With only seven campers registered for the last Junior Camp, we as staff and the team from Mississauga, ON, were looking for a miracle.  Over the weeks leading up to camp we had handed out many camp registrations in First Nations Communities in Thunder Bay and elsewhere.  I told the children about all the great activities that we did at camp .  The kids were excited and many went running off to show their parent/guardian the form.  One little girl came up to me when all the others had run to the games; she handed me the form and said “my mom can’t afford it.” My heart broke as I saw her sad face.  Over the weeks, she was not the only one.
Just days before camp started we received a phone call from a dear friend stating that he and his wife would be sending a cheque to pay for registration fees for some children who could not afford camp.  That’s all we needed to hear.  I began calling families with children and in less than 24 hours we were loading up the camp vehicles with 22 children, in addition to the seven previously registered. As in other weeks, many came to know the Lord! This would not have happened without the generosity of a supporter.
