Cover-A-Child Report

What Happened?

It was a joy to deliver the Cover-A-Child packages to the children. Their faces made it all worth it. Even though they may have only seen a material gift, we knew that we were bringing God’s love with each package. Some homes we entered broke our hearts and some encouraged them. One of the encouraging things we can already see is that the program is helping to build a stronger bond with some of the people we already minister to. Even though I was not the one that went to one lady’s door, she came up to me at a grocery store a few days later and thanked me for the packages given to her nephews. She has attended our family events before and her nephews have been to our camp as well. It was great to be able to provide not only for the spiritual needs of the people in our community but also some physical needs. This was another way that this lady could experience Jesus.  Praise the Lord.

What’s Next?

We are overjoyed with the success of Cover-A-Child but we cannot wait until next time to connect with these children again. We received over and above our goal so we decided to continue to use the funds for children, designating them to sending children to camp. We were so encouraged that we could not stop there. Many of the children who received our Cover-A-Child package would greatly benefit from a week of camp. A week where they will be loved and given the chance to receive God’s ultimate gift of love, Jesus Christ. SCA has always felt privileged to have an opportunity to minister to children through our camps. We are adding to our excitement by partnering with all of you to impact even more children’s lives with God’s love this year. Will you help us send 201.0 children to camp in 2010?
