Summer
Work teams are a big part of the late spring and early summer schedules, as log cabins are built, activities are planned, and summer camp is prepared.
Bible Camps -8 weeks.
Church campouts - local supporting churches use the camp for weekends, youth events, etc.
Conferences - public & government and church groups rent the facilities.
Family retreats/ reunions.
Annual Elder’s Supper - A meal and program prepared for the First Nations elders in the area.
Gospel Music Jamboree- At the end of camp season we have a thanksgiving time, that includes various music groups, and sharing time by the summer staff.
.
Winter
Visitation- Throughout the year the staff spend time visiting the First Nations villages to maintain contact with the children who have attended camp. Our long term goal is to see fellowship groups started in each of the First Nations villages.
Kids’ Clubs- Five Kids Clubs operate during the winter months. ENMC staff, as well as numerous volunteers, go into the communities to host weekly Kids’ Clubs.
Youth Clubs- Two youth groups are in operation. We hope to continue these as well as begin more, depending on the availability of staff.
Bible study groups- Adult Bible studies held at Eagle’s Nest or in the First Nations’ communities. As the children, who have attended summer camp, grow into adulthood, we hope to have more Bible study groups in the communities.
Christmas Candy Bags- Each year over 2000 bags are distributed to homes in the surrounding area and as far away as the Northwest Territories. These small tokens give us many opportunities to see the children that we have not been in contact with since camp, and also gives us the opportunity to meet the parents of the children who attend the different programs that we operate.
Hampers - Working closely with the Welfare Officer in the villages, local churches and Christian Schools we help by providing food and other necessities as well as Christmas Gifts for needy families.
Clothing Distribution- As part of our “mercy ministry”, Eagle’s Nest has clothing and household items available to those that are in need. Loss, due to fire and other means, has brought numerous families to the camp to pick out needed items. Sometimes our staff members deliver to those in need.
Counseling- Informal counseling of campers, especially teens, continues to take place throughout the year by staff. In the future we are hoping to have facilities for needy teens/ adults in the form of a Counseling Center.
