A place of new beginnings; A place of Community; A place of training!
These statements are our guiding light as we plan, prepare, investigate programs, and develop facilities. A number of years ago as we considered the role that SCA Eagle’s Cove would play in Northern Ontario, we were reminded of a passage in the Bible:
“Two are better than one , because they have a good return for their labour. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up…Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Through this passage, and the Lord confirming through numerous leaders sharing their heart with us, we believe that this place is and will be one of new beginnings and training!
New Beginnings: No other point of new beginnings is more important than the establishment of an intimate, personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. We have witnessed new beginnings in numerous lives and pray that many more will come to know Jesus through the ministry of SCA Eagle’s Cove.
We all, at times, need a place to re-evaluate our lives or get a fresh start. In the future, we plan to have individuals and families come and stay for three to six weeks, to be rejuvenated, encouraged in their walk with the Lord Jesus, and/or renew their relationships as couples and families – to start anew!
Training: Often leaders have expressed a need to have a place for training; whether that is spiritual training, or basic life-skills training, both are important to bring healing, and hope for tomorrow. As we plan and develop the Centre, we look to hosting workshops and life-skills training, Native culture and values instruction, conferences for church leaders, elders & youth.
In the words of a very wise Cherokee man: “You can not pick up a pebble with one finger.” None of us were made to live independent from each other. We need each other. We need community. We believe SCA Eagle’s Cove can be that community where many can receive encouragement and hope in this broken world.

The history behind SCA Eagle’s Cove has been one of miracles from day one, how God has protected the property for His very purpose…
In 2005, God miraculously led SCA International to this beautiful property consisting of 182 acres of wooded land situated by Lottit Lake with over 5,000 ft of waterfront. The property is near Thunder Bay, 40 minutes drive by road, north-west of the city.
A native leader, on his first visit to the Cove, said: “this place is very strategic for my people in the area.” As more and more First Nations people are moving into the urban areas from remote native communities, the use of this Ministry Centre will be very crucial in helping them by providing a place of healing, various types of helps, training and encouragement in their lives.
Since 2005 much has changed…
