Marc Garreau
I arrived in northern Alberta in this past summer; that’s a long way from my hometown of Lachute, Quebec. I believe the Lord has given me a heart for ministry among the First Nations people of Canada. I heard about SCA Eagle’s Nest from fellow students Jake and Anita Derksen (a couple from La Crete) while at Bible school, and when I finished there, coming to camp was about the only opportunity that opened up. My desire is to learn and gain more experience and this is a good place for doing that. I am staying at camp where I will work on some general maintenance and upkeep of the property, as well as helping out with whatever ministry opportunities may arise. Please pray that the Lord would continue to guide me clearly in whatever He has for me to do. God bless!

Susie Wiebe:
God in His faithfulness and incredible wisdom has called me back to this dear place; I am thrilled! I’ve been in and out of my hometown, La Crete for the past several years. The Lord revealed His character to me as a strong, solid rock, while I was moving back and forth and questioning my place in this life. I came to realize that no matter where I went, my journey with God continued right where it left off. God’s love and presence remained the same everywhere! As the Lord continued (and continues) to work in my life, to mould me into what He’s created me to be, He’s put a great burden on my heart to reach out to my neighbours. I have responded to God’s calling to be a part of the SCA ENMC’s team. I started this new endeavour on September 5, 2011. I’ve taken on the role as full-time Office Manager, and am also helping out in whatever ways needed.

Marcus Ruehl:
I have enjoyed being a part of SCA Eagle’s Nest for over ten years, starting as a cook’s helper in 2001 and moving on to be a cabin counsellor. I met my wife Marilyn through camp and in recent years we have taken on a weekly Camp Director’s role. I have also been the volunteer committee secretary for several years and I have recently joined the SCA International Board as a local representative. In that role I have taken on some extra responsibility and I’m so thankful for the help of Susie, Marc, the volunteer committee and the local churches. It excites me to see the body of Christ work together to accomplish His purposes and I can’t think of a better example where La Crete, Fort Vermilion and High Level churches work together in unity and harmony to see God glorified and the gospel shared with the lost. SCA Eagle’s Nest is in a time of transition and as a community we need to increase our support of the camp so that the ministry can, not just survive, but thrive and be a light in the darkness.
For God, Who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. – 2 Cor. 4:6
Please continue to pray for a full-time Camp Director who can build a ministry team to make the most of what God has given us in SCA Eagle’s Nest. Thank you for all of your faithful support, GOD Bless! -Marcus, Marilyn, Malachi and Sophie
